The intern will be involved in a diverse range of assignments and responsibilities, which may include contacting religious institutions from multiple faiths; planning a North American interfaith environmental speaking tour; researching religious sources on environmental issues; engaging in background research on philanthropic foundations; website development and updating; and design, planning, and assessment of interfaith environmental events and seminars in Israel and internationally.

Organization

The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development unites faith communities, teachers and leaders to promote co-existence, peace, and sustainability through advocacy, education and action-oriented projects. Working with numerous foundations, private donors, and clients, ICSD has successfully implemented a range of projects from hosting interfaith environmental conferences to facilitating ecotourism in the Holy Land to conducting faith and ecology workshops for students of religion. ICSD provides thought-leadership to faith-based communities and beyond through writing, speaking, teaching and advocacy.

Qualifications

Background in social media, research, and knowledge of environmental issues an advantage. Interns can use and develop almost any skills they have in this non-profit organization such as web design, video, research, event planning, fundraising, marketing, etc.

The intern will work in the international department and have opportunities to interview the NATAL professionals. The intern will also be responsible for the social media and marketing for the center, including blog writing, Facebook/Twitter updates, and writing articles. There also can be a possibility for some social work.

Organization

An apolitical non-profit organization established with the aim of increasing public awareness of national psycho-trauma caused by the Israeli-Arab conflict. This organization provides emotional and psychological treatment and assistance to any Israeli suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The center trains professionals and at-risk populations throughout Israel in prevention and coping mechanisms for PTSD.
